Seit 2004 ist der SVSP durch den Schweizerischen Physiotherapieverband (SPV) als Fachgruppe anerkannt und Mitglied der IFSPT (International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy), welche im WCPT (World Confederation of Physical Therapy) eingeschlossen ist.
